With constant use, heating and AC units are prone to malfunction and even become outdated. If you are experiencing temperature issues at your home, our HVAC experts can provide the HVAC repair service you need.

Common Air Conditioning Problems

Although there could be dozens of reasons why your AC unit is not working properly, below are the top 5 reasons:
Faulty Wiring
If your AC unit wasn't installed properly, there is a risk that the wiring is faulty. Not only this is a major fire hazard but it could prevent the AC unit from getting power and even trip the circuit breaker.
Low Refrigerant
Refrigerant (aka."Freon") is the chemical used by your Air Conditioning unit to cool the air. If your AC unit is running low on refrigerant it could translate into a leak or another problem with the refrigerant system. If your AC unit needs to be recharged with refrigerant, 90% of the time that suggests there is a leak. These leaks should be promptly located and repaired. Please note old R-22 refrigerant have phased out as these are not safe for the environment. Learn more from the U.S. EPA website >
Outside Fan Is Not Working
Your AC unit's outside fan is responsible for transferring the heat from your home to the outside air. If the fan on the outside unit doesn’t perform correctly, proper heat transfer cannot take place and the air conditioning compressor may overheat and trip the safety overload. Worse yet, it may cause internal damage to the compressor.
Outside Unit Not Functional
If your AC unit outside is not working at all, this is usually caused by a lack of power, a problem with the original AC installation or even a faulty thermostat.
The Coil Is Frozen
A frozen coil often indicates an issue with the airflow, airflow limitation is caused by dirty air filters or an obstructed air ductwork. Frozen indoor coils could also be the result of low refrigerant.

Common Heating and Furnace Problems

Below is a list of the five most common reasons your furnace or heating system may need to be repaired.
No Upkeep
A furnace needs annual inspections and upkeep to avoid any unforeseen issues or complete unit failure. A regularly scheduled inspection helps your unit to continue to function smoothly.
Grimy Filters
Air filters that are clogged/ dirty are the leading cause of HVAC failure, they limit airflow which causes the furnace to overheat from over working. A clogged filter can also ruin the limit switch, a mechanism that handles the fans.
Mechanical Aging
Overtime as a furnace begins to age a number of issues may arise such as: airflow problems, heat control-related problems, and overheating.
Ignition Or Pilot Problems
A damaged pilot or Ignition can make heating your space problematic. A faulty pilot light may be cause by the following issues: thermocouple, cogs or drafts.
Faulty Thermostat
Defective thermostats can cause issues with maintaining comfort levels or difficulties with the fan. A faulty smart thermostat can become a major energy drain or cause havoc with your HVAC unit.
